The Church of St. Luke in the Fields is the third oldest church in New York City. During its 183 year history this parish has been fully engaged in the life of its times. At no time has that been more apparent than in the last quarter or the twentieth century, the years 1970 to 2000.

In Lives at St. Luke’s, twenty-two people, priests and parishioners who made this church their spiritual home during those tumultuous years, vividly describe their experiences as individuals and as members of a vibrant group.
