The recording includes two works composed by the noted Greenwich Village composer Frank Wigglesworth for the choir at St. Luke's, A Short Mass for SATB chorus (1970) and Psalm 148 for SATB chorus, three flutes and two trombones (1973). In addition, the disc includes chamber works by Wigglesworth.
Richard Toensing: Responsoria
was released in the spring of 2000 on the North/South consonance label. It is a 3 CD recording of Colorado composer Richard Toensing's Responsoria, Book I, II and III, a complete setting of the responsories for the Office of Tenebrae. The monumental work is scored for six part chorus, piano, percussion, and double bass. The choir received a major grant from the Mary Flagler Cary Charitable Trust in 1998 to fund this project.
