Stations of the Cross with Holy Eucharist

The Stations of the Cross is one of the foremost devotions Christians make during Lent. The Stations of the Cross (also known as the Way of the Cross, the Way of Sorrows, or the Via Dolorosa) are a series of meditations on the last moments in the life of Jesus from his being condemned to death to his being lain in the tomb. This practice which has become a devotional pilgrimage dates back to the 15th century and grew from a devotional pilgrimage in Jerusalem tracing the final steps Jesus made on the day of his crucifixion.
Fourteen parishioners contributed new works of art for our stations this year. Each of them has written a reflection on their station, the inspirations and influences which resulted in their gift to us, and we have collected them into this booklet which can be used to guide you through your journey. As we walk the stations at 6:15 pm each Wednesday evening this Lent, we will be using the standard text from the BOS (Book of Occasional Services).
The service begins in the church and concludes with the Holy Eucharist in the chapel.
