Giving is a sign of abundant life.
Giving is a way of life that is not limited to the altruistic or the rich. Ordinary people of many faiths who believe that life and love are not limited commodities can give. At St. Luke’s, giving links us with a history of providing for the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of people in Greenwich Village since the early 1800’s. We give of our time, our talents, and our resources or money to ensure the future of St. Luke’s mission in our neighborhood, in the city and the world. As givers, we are what we share. The Christian Gospel calls us to invest in what really matters, love of God and neighbor.
Thank you for considering a donation.

Why We Give
In every way I’ve shown you that by laboring like this, it is necessary to help the weak and to keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, for He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” Acts 20:35
Friends of St. Luke’s are neighbors and others who want to support the work on the block, in the City and in the world. Friends are people of a variety of religious traditions, expressions, or of no religious faith.
The Friends of St. Luke’s practice abundant life for our block: giving to and working with our dedicated gardeners, aiding our significant outreach to those who are poor and marginalized, and participating in our amazing Choir and Concert series. Outreach donations support weekly home-cooked meals for people living with HIV and AIDS, outreach and education for homeless and at-risk youth who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning or allies, and tutoring for children in underserved schools.
Friends share all the privileges and responsibilities that members do. Friends might choose to receive the Gazette (parish newsletter) or attend church, or not, but they do support the programs with time and resources. Friends also gather for community celebrations or projects on an occasional basis.
Members and Friends give in many different ways: one time gifts or regular offering of time and money, generous bequests and donations of stocks/bonds, important contributions of expertise and in-kind services, all enrich givers and community, all confront scarcity and inspire abundant life.
Our Stewardship Campaign
Many times over, we’ve all heard how St. Luke’s has the power to transform lives. Something about this place is transformational, isn’t it? And what we find here for ourselves we long to provide for others.
Our Vestry voted to commit 75% of all pledge dollars received in 2017 directly to mission, outreach, spiritual education for all ages, and formation. The purpose of this makes clear the truth of ourfaith: that mission is not an option but an integral part of how God calls us to serve God’s people.
Together we affirm our partnership with God in making a difference both here and beyond. Say yes to our call to transform lives.
