Join St. Luke's Book Group Reading How to Be an Antiracist by National Book Award Winner Ibram X. Kendi
St. Luke in the Fields Church joins 200 parishes in the Episcopal Diocese of New York to read, understand and learn from one of the most important books of our time.
FROM BISHOP ANDREW DIETSCHE:
"I could not be more pleased and honored to commend this remarkable book to the people and parishes of this diocese. Kendi pulls back the social covering to reveal the ways by which often unacknowledged racist assumptions infect every institution and system, and my heart and mind, and yours too. He offers an invitation to all of us and each of us to be transformed, to be enlarged, to be enriched, and to become better and more complete human beings, and more just communities. All together, in all our common humanity."
"HOW TO BE AN ANTIRACIST" Book Group meets Tuesdays, 7 - 8 PM beginning September 22 on Zoom.
The Moderator is Richard Kigel, member of St. Luke's Vestry and author of Heav'nly Tidings from the Afric Muse: The Grace and Genius of Philis Wheatley.
