G.P. da Palestrina: Missa Papae Marcelli and motets

Thursday October 28 at 8:00 pm (Pre-concert Lecture at 7:00 pm)
Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina ranks as one of the towering figures in the music of the late 16th century. His best known work, the Missa Papae Marcelli, composed c.1561, is dedicated to Pope Marcellus II, who established the Council of Trent. The program will include other works by Palestrina written for the Sistine Chapel.
