Adult Education: The Antiracism Book Club & More is a group that discusses contemporary and historical issues of race, color, and ethnicity and their impact on our society in order to enable change in perspective, both individually and collectively, to encourage antiracism in the broader community. It is designed as a safe place for members of our parish and community to gain a deeper understanding of how racism affects our lives.
Current Book: The 1619 Project
Currently the group is involved in discussions on The 1619 Project by Nikole Hannah-Jones, The New York Times, et al. Discussions will continue over the course of the summer. Participants are not required to attend all sessions and once you have received the Zoom link, you are welcome to attend any of the discussions you choose. In order to fully participate in these discussions, it is highly recommended that individuals obtain and read the book. If you would like to purchase the book from a minority owned bookstore, here are two local businesses: The Lit Bar and Sisters Uptown Bookstore. The group meets from 7 until 8pm on Mondays via Zoom.
